Access to Information Act

Updated: 22 August 2025

This page provides information on the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”), which promotes transparency and accountability by granting individuals the right to access records held by public and private bodies. Noiz (“we,” “us,” or “our”) complies with PAIA to facilitate lawful access to information, subject to applicable exemptions and procedures.

Enacted in 2000, PAIA aims to:

  • Give effect to the constitutional right of access to information held by the State;
  • Enable access to information held by private persons or entities when required for the exercise or protection of any rights; and
  • Address related matters to support these objectives.

In accordance with Section 51 of PAIA, we have compiled a manual that outlines the types of records we hold, the process for requesting access, and other relevant details. The manual is available for download in PDF format:

Requests must comply with PAIA requirements, including payment of applicable fees and provision of sufficient particulars. We will process valid requests within the statutory timeframes and may refuse access where grounds for refusal exist under PAIA (e.g., protection of commercial information or third-party privacy).

For assistance or inquiries regarding PAIA requests, contact us at info@noiz.ie. We reserve the right to update this page and the associated manual as needed to reflect changes in our operations or legal requirements.

In 2000, the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) was passed to:

  • give effect to the constitutional right of access to information held by the State; and
  • any information that is held by another person and that is required for the exercise or protection of any rights; and
  • to provide with matters connected therewith”
